April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month

Every year in April the worldwide Parkinson community comes together to raise awareness about Parkinson’s through educational programs and events.

At our Inova Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center we’re excited to offer our first in-person conference where you’ll hear from our team of specially trained neurologists about leading-edge medications, technology and therapies that can help restore the quality of life you deserve.

You’ll also learn about our programs, and meet our partners who help to keep us all active, engaged, and healthy! They’ll be supported by patients who are happy to share how much these programs mean to them.

We are confident that you will leave with an understanding of our team’s dedication to individualized care, and a feeling of hope that you can indeed live well with Parkinson’s.

To learn more about our 2024 conference please visit ipmdc.org/conference2024. We hope to see you there!

Thank You!

We would like to send a special Thank You!
to everyone who made a donation, not only for Giving Tuesday, but throughout the year as well. We also wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your kind messages of encouragement and support.

Over the past year we’ve increased our online and in-person programs to top out at 100 each month, all due to the generosity of our community. The response by attendees is encouraging, as are the stories we hear:

  • People attending our exercise programs like Dance for PD, rock climbing, and Dual Task for Parkinson’s, are feeling relief with less symptoms, while at the same time they’re becoming more fit and mobile.
  • Exercise classes and Parkinson Friends groups are helping people to feel supported and less alone, and lessen the distressing feelings of anxiety and depression.
  • Through our educational programs, people are learning about new treatments, feeling less fearful about the journey ahead of them, and have hope that they can indeed live well with Parkinson’s.

These stories, and seeing so many smiling faces, motivate and inspire us to continue to continue to grow in 2024.

Your gifts of gratitude to our Inova Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center, now and throughout the year, will stay in our community to directly benefit Parkinson patients, their families and friends, through all our programs.

and from all of our team at IPMDC, as well as all our program partners,
thank you again for your support!

Giving Tuesday

We pride ourselves on being a nationally recognized Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center, anchored in the community in which we live.

Your questions, concerns, and desire to live your best life with Parkinson’s are the inspiration for the programs we offer. We are grateful to partner with Parkinson and community experts to offer these programs to you, and hope that when you come away from them, it is with a feeling of hope and purpose that you can continue to enjoy all that life has to offer.

Over the past two years, we’ve gone from offering only online programs to adding a wide variety of in-person, educational, movement, and supportive programs in multiple locations around Northern Virginia.

When you make a donation to our Inova Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center, your gift of gratitude will stay in our community to directly benefit Parkinson patients, families and friends through all our programs.

Please visit ipmdc.org/donate, and thank you for your support!
