Get Fit with hiit
Mondays from 3:45 pm-4:30 pm
We are excited to partner with Virginian Rehabilitation and Wellness to offer Get Fit with HIIT, a High Intensity Interval Training class for ambulatory people living with Parkinson’s, Parkinsonism’s, Movement Disorders, and imbalance.
What is Get Fit With HIIT?
It is a group circuit class with multiple rounds and stations, promoting high intensity effort.
Why HIIT?
• Research suggests that HIIT may confer health benefits over moderate-intensity continuous training (traditional endurance exercise) and is generally well-tolerated in older adults. Benefits have been seen in functional measures such as sit to stand function, and walking endurance.
• Having fun is an external drive of dopamine to help mood for all and movement quality for those with dopamine-deficient diagnoses.
