Every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm (EST).
Dance is more than just dance in Parkinson’s. Research supports the benefits of dance on motor symptoms such as gait and balance and non-motor symptoms such as quality of life, mood and cognitive function and even on dual-tasking. Besides its popularity among people with Parkinson’s, it has proven clinically meaningful benefits in Parkinson’s when compared to either no intervention or other exercise based interventions. The movement patterns used to start, stop, take forward, side and backward steps, responding to the different movements and rhythms, will all be part of a fun and challenging exercise experience. Zumba music will also help challenge you with all the rhymes of salsa, tango, cumbia, mambo, rumba, flamenco, pop, merengue, country and more.
