Our thanks to IPMDC annual sponsor
Safe and Secure Transition Home Care
for creating this wonderful video of our Fall Conference!
Thank you to everyone who attended IPMDC’s Fall Conference and helped us to celebrate 10 years of providing comprehensive care for our Parkinson community!
The day began with IPMDC Medical Director, Drew Falconer, MD, updating us on all that Inova Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center has to offer. Our fellowship-trained specialists can help people with Parkinson’s live their best lives with the help of almost 30 medications and targeted technologies that are currently available. Through our programs we can help you stay active and engaged, and find answers for how to live with Parkinson’s day to day.
We were delighted that Portuguese physiotherapist Josefa Domingos PhD and American speech language pathologist, John M. Dean, could join us in-person for this special event! They discussed the lifestyle choices we can make to slow progression of Parkinson’s and improve the quality of all our lives, with the most important one being exercise.
After a delicious lunch with time to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, we heard from some of our exercise program partners:
* Lucy with Dance for PD
* Molly with Up ENDing Parkinson’s (rock climbing)
* Chris with AIM Human Performance (boxing/strength)
* Josefa and John with Dual Task for Parkinson’s.
Together they led us in interactive, cognitive and musical activities, and then acknowledged their highest attendees with t-shirts from each program. Congratulations to one attendee who went home with two t-shirts!
Jennifer Pauldurai, MD, Inova Cognitive and Behavioral Neurologist, answered the question, Can Exercise Help Our Brains With Memory? You’ll find the answer at ipmdc.org/fall2025 where we’ve posted her slide deck!
In our final session, we handed out our special gift from Safe and Secure Transition Home Care to all attendees. It’s a high-quality hospital go-bag to commemorate IPMDC’s 10th year, chosen with the same care and thoughtfulness that the Safe and Secure Transition team show their clients.
We included our new patient care kit (available at ipmdc.org/hospital), and some other helpful information, such as a list of suggested items to include in your go-bag.

Thank you to Mr. Ernie Satterwhite and his remarkable team at Safe and Secure Transition Home Care!
We’ve posted slide decks for our presentations at ipmdc.org/fall2025, and you’ll find a link for our conference survey there, too. We’d love your feedback!
Thank you to all our sponsors and exhibitors for their financial support and commitment to our community!
And thank you to all our program partners for their dedication to helping patients and families living with Parkinson’s to living their best life!
SAVE THE DATE!
IPMDC 2026 conference will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026!
